Nobody can actually “teach” wisdom – all you can do is guide people as they acquire it. The basic principles that that can help a learner adopt the Toyota thinking is critical to success & is called the DNA. The engagement equation is the DNA.
DNA = DISCIPLINE N’ ACCOUNTABILITY
DNA is analogous to biological DNA, the genetic code that defines an individual. In using DNA to describe the elements of a business culture, we say that culture is the sum total of what is going on in the heart and mind of every employee.
The equation, therefore, is the tool for instilling the thinking behind the workplace culture, one employee at a time. DNA is about teamwork, respect, safety, standards and a commitment to always improving the work process.
he idea is that you can’t do problem solving without coaching. You can’t just drop the tool on somebody and say “Go Do It!” It doesn’t work like that. It has to be part of your life, and part of what you do. It's really a people development tool more than anything else. This is the part that really gets people saying, “Wow! This is a lot different than what I ever thought it was!”
Looking at the highest level, only two things we can do to improve the value we create for our customers;
Bottom line is when we reduce the time spent getting ready to make the products as opposed to actually making the products, we actually free up additional resources to either make each of those products more valuable or reducing the cost. This benefits both my company and my customer.
Respect for each of those seconds isn’t something you can turn on and off when it is convenient. You really have to live up to the expectations they were created from. This is a big part of what we call as the DNA.

While training on this program we can help you to implement this by your operational managers in your Gemba. The implementation is a 3-month program with 1 visit per week to your plant and continuous interaction with your managers with their live improvement projects.
