Achieve Future State VSM for QCD to Customer & Your Company

MOST Techniques- 2-day Workshop cum Training Program

Why MOST?

In today's complex manufacturing environment, every split second of waste counts. This is more so in manual processes where the variations between operators and th variations between each operator performing the same cycle cumulatively contribute to the decreased production of priducts at the end of the shift considerably. This when the volumes of a certain product variant increases, either we need to increase the resources or the operator to deliver the products on time in full to the customer. MOST is the method that ensures that these variations are kept to the barest minimum this ensuring the proper utilization of man/woman and machine and material.

Knowing the time to manufacture and assemble various parts and/or components a manager could:

  • Determine the total labour cost of the product
  • Determine the number of production workers needed
  • Determine the number of machines needed
  • Determine the amount of and delivery times for material
  • Determine the overall production schedule
  • Determine the feasibility of entering into production of the product
  • Set production goals
  • Follow-up on production: Have goals been achieved?
  • Check individual or departmental efficiency
  • Know the actual costs of production
  • Pay by results

What is MOST?

MOST concentrates on the movement of objects. Movement of objects follows consistently repeating patterns like reach, grasp, move, and position the object

Objects can be moved in two ways. Either they are picked up and moved freely through space; or they are moved and maintain contact with another surface

Program Details and Who Can Attend?

Three activities are needed for describing manual work.

  • GENERAL MOVE SEQUENCE – for spatial movement of an object freely through the air
  • CONTROLLED MOVE SEQUENCE – for movement of an object when it remains in contact with a surface or is attached to another object during movement
  • TOOL USE SEQUENCE – for use of common hand tools

Prospective participants would be people who are connected to shopfloor manufacturing and their support activities, department heads of production, quality, maintenance, process and production engineering.

Program Structure

  • CAPSULE 1: MOST Basics and concept of cycle time
  • CAPSULE 2: General Move Sequence
  • CAPSULE 3: Controlled Move Sequence
  • CAPSULE 4: Tool Use Sequence
  • CAPSULE 5: Equipment Handling Sequence (Optional)
  • CAPSULE 6: GEMBA Applications of MOST Work Measurement Systems

Hand Holding and MOST Projects

  • We at The School for Gemba Excellence can facilitate you to make MOST studies by identifying the various types of sequences that are prevalent in the various processes at the various workstations.
  • The project can be of 6 months duration with weekly visits to your site and facilitating your concerned people to understand and identify various types of MOST sequences.
